So in the past three or four days I have seen the time 2:39 maybe .... 5 times. And after the second time it happened I realized it was clearly a sign of God or someone telling me to blog to my friends in the 239.
So, here it is
Its Dec. 31st, New Years Eve, and I don't have any big plans. New Years doesnt really capture my imagination - its the same as any other day, so I don;t see the big reason to celebrate. So, I will be staying low key tonight, and I am totally content with that.
On the 28th I had my New York City Teaching Fellows interview .... it went alright! I actually felt pretty good about my teaching segment. The applicant pool was a lot different from Teach for America...for TFA everyone was TOTALLY prepared, dedicated, etcetc. At the NYCTF interview, people seemed more nervous and less prepared. Well, I'm glad the interview is done (I was REALLY nervous beforehand, it sucked) and in about 4 weeks I will hear their decision.
In the past few days Jesse and I have been looking into programs for teaching abroad. So far we've found a few that look great .... one is NOVA and the other is the HESS foundation. NOVA is in Japan, and HESS is in Taiwan. They both really help you out in terms of finding housing, and the good thing at hess is that after the year (or two) you leave with a TEFL teaching certificate, and thats great! We would both LOVE to go back to Germany or Berlin, but there is much less need there for English teachers.
Hmmm, thats about all I can think of for now.
Miss you all, and best wishes for the New Year =)
Deb
